The Office of University Engagement for Northeast Indiana is located at the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center across from the Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) campus.

The Office was creted jointly by IPFW, Purdue University, Indiana University, the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center and the Northeast Indiana Corporate Council. The office serves as a community partner in key regional economic development, strategic planning and workforce development intiatives utilizing the resources of the partner universities.

The mission of the office is to:

• Serve as a key contact for access to IPFW, Purdue, and Indiana University programs for regional business, government and community partnerships.
• Facilitates community access to research capabilities, technical expertise, intellectual property, educational services and co-op/internship programs from the university partners.
• Provides representation for regional businesses and business partners to the universities in the development and enhancement of university programs.

The office serves as northeast Indiana's key contact for Purdue's Technical Assistance Program, the Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization and Discovery Park.
It serves to link regional business to Indiana University resources such as the IU Research and Technology Corporation, the Informatics Research Institute and the IU Medical School.
The office also serves to facilitate opportunities to connect business and education in the many areas of expertise at IPFW including:

• Centers of Excellence
• Office of Research and External support
• student academic projects
• workforce development programs
• internship/co-op opportunities
